There are a number of good free business listings sites which are targeted directly at the Australian audience.

The City Web Guide, Australia
They have been running since 2009 and cover Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne & Adelaide. They provide a completely free business listing service as well as some paid services, which get you featured in their top search results as well as also having promotional articles published on their site and other sites too - a bit like PR Web - but quite a lot cheaper. Their paid business promotion service is $8.99/month. But the free listing is a great way to start building your online presence.

The Streets Network
They've been around a while too - they cover every city in Australia. They currently charge $220 / year for listing. They seem to get quite a bit of traffic so might be worth a try.

Hot Frog
Another good site. They offer a free business listing and cover all regions of Australia too.
Downside is that the sign up takes a bit long - but that's not to put you off.

Another gooden. Get listed for free and also they have options for classified ads. They are all-australian as the name suggests!

Finally another all-Aussie directory site. Not free, but only $4.90/month. Their system is a bit old-skool, but hey - it might give you some extra link juice. Try it out.
